Antimicrobial Stewardship Collaborative Formed to Target UTIs in Long-term Care Facilities
KFMC and KDHE HAI/AR Section are partnering to form an Antimicrobial Stewardship Collaborative directed at improving the diagnostic practices and treatment of UTIs in Long-term Care Facilities. Enrollment is limited and closes March 15, 2024. The linked flyer contains additional details.

Kansas Health Equity Summit
The 2023 Health Equity Summit brought together a diverse assembly of healthcare professionals, policymakers, community leaders, advocates, and individuals, all committed to advancing health equity on a local and state scale. The presenters' slide presentations and other materials are now available.
LTC Antimicrobial Stewardship Webinar series
The webinar series was held June through October 2023. The presenter was Dr. Kelli Wark, MD, MPH. She is the HAI/AR Expert and Antimicrobial Stewardship Lead for KDHE and Assistant Professor of Infectious Disease at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Project Firstline Infection Prevention Regional Trainings Summer 2023
KFMC Health Improvement Partners has partnered with Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and Kansas Healthcare Collaborative to facilitate this in-person infection prevention education series for frontline and leadership staff (nurse aide, dietary, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, nursing, administration) in Kansas hospitals, long term care, and communal living facilities throughout the state of Kansas.
