Physician Reviewers

Credentialing
A credential file is maintained for each KFMC physician reviewer. We request that physician reviewers provide:
- Curriculum vitae (resume)
- A completed KFMC Physician Reviewer Information Sheet
- A copy of your Board Certification
- Signed KFMC Confidentiality of Information Form
- Signed IRS Form W-9
Reimbursement
Physician Reviewers are reimbursed at an hourly rate for the actual time reviewing a medical record.
Conflict of Interest
Some examples of instances in which we request that a PR not review a case are:
- Previous involvement in the case
- Association with the hospital at which the care was provided
- Physician involved is from a close neighboring town. In Kansas "close" is a relative term. In some instances a five-mile distance removes the issue of "economic competition." In others, physicians within 100 miles of each other may be in "economic competition." We must depend on the PR to identify these types of cases if, despite our best efforts to prevent them, you receive a review involving an economic competitor.
- Affiliation with the physician involved in the care.
- Involved in care not within the PR expertise.
