As a successful awardee of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, KFMC set out to design a group purchasing plan to leverage volume discounts and assure a high level of service to our participants. Our services include helping providers select the highest-value option, defined by that which offers the greatest opportunity to achieve and maintain meaningful use of EHRs and improved quality of care at the most favorable cost and ownership and operation, including the initial acquisition of the technology, cost of implementation, and ongoing maintenance and predictable needed upgrades over time.
KFMC offers unbiased advice on the systems and services best suited to enable Priority Primary Care Physicians/Practitioners (PPCPs) to become meaningful users of EHRs.

KFMC chose Associated Purchasing Services (APS) to be our group purchasing agent.
Associated Purchasing Services (APS), in addition to being the group purchasing affiliate of the Kansas Hospital Association (KHA) and Missouri Hospital Association (MHA), is now collaborating with the Kansas Foundation for Medical Care, Inc. (KFMC). As a committed advocate for KFMC, APS will help REC participating practices enhance revenues by reducing expenses of managing purchases.
