Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center
The HITECH Act authorizes a Health Information Technology Extension Program. The extension program consists of Regional Extension Centers (RCs) and a national Health Information Technology Research Center (HITRC). KFMC is the Regional Center in Kansas.
The regional centers will offer technical assistance, guidance and information on best practices to support and accelerate healthcare providers’ efforts to become meaningful users of Electronic Health Records (EHRs).

HITRC Presentation
Why work with KFMC?
The RC will have something to offer all practices regardless of where you are in your HIT journey. Practices may be in the very early stages of investigation, or may be preparing for Go Live, or have an implemented EHR. The RC will assist and facilitate attainment of meaningful use criteria for all of these situations.
We have the experience!
For the past several years, we have worked with Kansas providers on implementation of HIT. This work includes practice workflow assessments, vendor selection, implementation and information utilization assistance. Our extensive knowledge and experience are additional strengths when working with providers across settings towards meaningful implementation of HIE.
