Beginning in 2006, Medicare consumers became eligible for drug coverage under a Medicare prescription drug plan (Medicare Part D). Consumers deciding to participate in Part D, select and enroll in one of many CMS-approved Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) or Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plans (MA-PDs). To improve the quality of care related to this new benefit, KFMC is working with PDPs, MA-PDs, and providers on quality improvement projects related to improving prescribing and safety in the delivery of prescription medications.
