PEAK-ED
The education component of PEAK supports Kansas nursing homes in implementing progressive, innovative approaches to care that should make a significant difference in the quality of care and the quality of life for those living and working in long-term care environments. Through the Center on Aging, Kansas State University is providing diverse educational resources for nursing homes to use in this process. Resources will include a focus on the philosophy and values of changing the culture of care as well as provide different strategies and exemplars for accomplishing such changes. The PEAK education initiative is funded through a Title XIX contract supported by the Kansas Department on Aging and the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services and through matching funds provided by Kansas State University, Kansas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, the Kansas Health Care Association, and volunteers from the long-term care profession.
