A leader in healthcare quality improvement in Kansas hospitals and physician offices for over 35 years, KFMC began work with nursing home providers in 2002. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), has funded KFMC to address areas of patient harm for which there is evidence of how to improve safety by improving healthcare process and systems.
Our work with Kansas nursing homes assists nursing home staff with improved care processes on the clinical quality measures. Nursing homes who have committed to working with KFMC over the past five years have made significant progress in reducing quality measure rates.
KFMC also assists in raising public awareness of the availability of the nursing home quality measures, helping healthcare professionals and consumers to understand and use the data available when making choices regarding choosing a nursing home.
