Pressure Ulcer Prevention
Pressure ulcers are a significant problem for people of all ages and across all healthcare settings, as well as a significant source of paint and human suffering. Multiple factors put individuals at risk for developing a pressure ulcer, including immobility, chronic illness, incontinence, poor nutrition, altered level of consciousness, altered sensory perception and a history of having pressure ulcers. KFMC is working with a select number of hospitals to address patient harm for which there is evidence of how to improve safety by improving healthcare processes and systems related to hospital-acquired pressures ulcers.
