Heart Failure

The lack of widespread information regarding the symptoms of heart failure is one of the barriers to effectively diagnosing and treating patients. As with many diseases, early detection and quality treatment are the cornerstones of successful treatment. When it comes to diagnosis, left ventricular evaluation is extremely important and frequently underutilized. Beyond this initial diagnosis, care in the form of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs), prescription of appropriate medications, smoking cessation counseling, and clear, complete discharge instructions are all extremely important elements in providing the best possible care to those who suffer heart failure. KFMC is working with hospitals in Kansas to improve their healthcare processes and systems which will result in providing the right care for every patient, every time.
