The Kansas Local Area Network for Excellence (LANE) was formed to steer the Advancing Excellence (AE) in America’s Nursing Homes program. The purpose of the AE program is to promote quality improvement in both clinical and organizational goals in the long-term care setting.
This exciting FREE session provides key education to a proactive pressure ulcer program of prevention and timely, appropriate interventions. Understanding the mechanisms behind pressure ulcer formation, identifying at-risk and high-risk residents, and conducting thorough skin and risk assessment will assist in the development of a comprehensive care plan with consideration of all factors contributing to and affecting the ulcer and the resident. This education program has been developed to assist licensed professional staff, as well as, CNA/CMA/RA staff meet the challenges faced in preventing and healing pressure ulcers.
